At Eurostar terminal in Rotterdam awaiting train homeward to Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies Engineering@Aston after lightning fast visit to @TUeindhoven hosted by Chigoziem Okonkwo and @EtnWon partner Nicola Calabretta and teams. Great labs. Hope to have more time, next time.
Very busy ECOC_Conference plenary session, looking forward to hearing Dave Welch of Infinera & Christoph Glingener of ADVA. Also later to a special symposium on “50 years of optical fibre” & welcome reception at Basel Markthalle with @EtnWon and Engineering@Aston.
Happy to be travelling to speak at CLEO 2023’s Special Symposium “Celebrating Optical-Guided Wave Solitons”, lnkd.in/ejxaUnrE alongside Im(Sergei K. Turitsyn) from Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies and Engineering@Aston, and to meet Dr Natsupa Taengnoi of ORC Southampton whose excellent PhD thesis I read recently.
On coach home (no trains) after a busy week at #CLEO2023. Great to catch up with old Aston University pal Steve, former Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies and UCL EEE PhDs Pavel & Daniel, both now at Infinera, Leily of National Ignition Facility, & many more at Special Symposium “Celebrating … solitons”
Lovely morning in The Forest of Arden and at Aston University where we’re keenly anticipating a 2nd Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies international workshop on UltraWideBand @EtnWon beginning with talks by distinguished speakers Dr Ming-Jun Li of Corning OpComm and Dr David Neilsen of Bell Labs
Another fine day in England’s second city at Aston University Looking forward to a second great day at Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies UWB workshop beginning with talks by Prof Jayanta Sahu of ORC Southampton and Dr Nick Fontaine of Bell Labs
Nick Fontaine of Bell Labs explaining in a fantastic talk at Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies Engineering@Aston that every optical fibre “has a personality”. IEEE Photonics Society
Happy to be travelling down from Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies for the UCL EEE Festival of Research taking place today. Promises an exceptionally broad range of exciting EEE research, including from the joint UCL Aston University Cambridge University TRANSNET.
