There is a critical failing of modern education where every person is expected to be literate and skilled at math. Not every person can be both, or even either. And trying to convince every kid that they're just as capable creates inferiority complexes and imposter syndrome.

Reading the thread, it sounds like this person is upset that Nintendo made it harder to conduct a version of piracy. That's not scamming. Being able to play the same game using 1 license on 2 systems simultaneously is a violation of almost all digital licensing agreements.
