Our gardens are havens for wildlife and we purposefully support a symbiotic balance of human requirements, wildlife and biodiversity. We place the Kitchen Garden at the heart of many of our gardens, settled within wild areas such as meadows, orchards and nutteries.

A riot of form and colour in the perennial meadow is offset by a calm gravel terrace at the centre of the garden. Held in by a cloud clipped hedge, this outdoor room is a quiet place to pause & dine, still with a connection to the wilder and productive areas of the garden.

Phase One of our Oast and Barn garden nearing completion. With a strong collaboration with the architecture and a response to the wider landscape, a sense of place has been instilled, whilst also leaving space and time for nature to artfully bring everything together.

Perfect weather to enjoy a Pool garden. We designed this space to honour the magnolia tree which was already there. Its beautiful canopy providing natural dappled shade to the terraces which float around it. A true collaboration with nature. #gardendesign #landscapedesign

Doors wide open and still connected to the garden whilst making relish and pickles with the many courgettes grown in the kitchen garden. Making the most of the veggie glut, preserving ahead for the darker months. #selfsufficiency #preserves #makingfood #growingfood

We always begin with a masterplan, to ensure circulation and connection throughout the garden is thoroughly considered. Gateways have been installed in phase one of our Oast and Barn project, which will in time connect the Potager to the larger Kitchen Garden once made

The trees, hedgerows and wildflower meadows we planted earlier in the year are growing and flourishing around us whilst a few finishing touches are being implemented on site. A pleasure to continue bi-weekly visits to monitor the garden’s progress in the early stages

A strong connection between house and garden in our De Beauvoir project celebrates our design ethos. Our gardens are designed to make you feel better, deep consideration given to every aspect of the experience of spending time there. Read more in @gardens_illustrated

Gardens should always stir a sense of escapism, shouldn’t they? Blurring the boundaries of this town garden was essential in feeling as though you could be anywhere. Careful consideration has been given to the positioning of trees, to obscure the view of neighbouring homes,

An early evening wander through the Orchard... In our Old Rectory garden we have brought modern elements to the traditional concept of an Orchard. The formality of pleached fruit contrasts rather nicely with the wilder plum trees dotted through the wildflower meadow.

In our Oast and Barn garden we drew inspiration from the rooflines of the heritage buildings, with the angular shapes woven throughout the design of the garden and in the detailing of water features, gate posts, pergolas and the selection of tree shapes.

Exploring the coastal landscape of Suffolk, a favourite spot walking the heathland in Dunwich. A vast, dense mosaic of heather and clusters of silver birch thrive on the sandy soil of the traditional heathland, creating a truly beautiful scene and special habitat.

South facing banks and bare ground are important habitats for solitary bees and wasps, making their nests in the sand and soil. A real treat to see beautiful example of this habitat in Dunwich Heath. #landscapearchitecture #gardensforwildlife #ecosystems #wildlandscapes

The story of the garden is tightly woven into our design plans. In our De Beauvoir project the pattern found in the historic windows inspires the form and detailing throughout the garden. Read more about this project in August’s issue of @gardens_illustrated magazine.

We’re drawn to opposites and how they work together – light and shade, wild and cultivated, abundant and restrained. The gardens we created at our Old Rectory project feel at ease yet also exciting, balancing modern design with traditional practices and tactile natural materials

Planning and listed building consent was granted for our garden masterplan for a Grade II* listed Queen Anne home in Kent. The formal pool garden is just one of the areas we developed from concept through to completion which reflects the architectural rigour of the project

The Magnolia tree with it’s beautiful organic structure, the central pillar of the garden. We very gladly inherited it from the existing garden and kept it in-situ, creating the new pool garden around it and making space for the tree to shine. #countrygarden

Waxing and waning, the moon is a sign of constant change and the cyclical passing and return of the seasons. Harvest Moon is upon us tonight and it’s time to harvest the hops in Kent at the moment. Locality and sustainability are at the core of our Kent Oast project.
