Cronyism is an awkward one for us to address in journalism. Hard to find someone who can write about it who isn’t a son, daughter, sister, brother, other half of someone etc important who fixed it for them to get their job in the first place.

Spread word. Many children are being sent home by school due to someone in class / year group bubble testing +ve for Covid. If so, and you then can't work due to needing to be home with them, this (not just NHS test & trace) can trigger the £500 payment for those on low incomes.

My message to Sajid Javid today : Remember you are now the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care - not the minister for selling off our NHS or gifting contracts to your mates in banking and finance.
