We've been out in Essex Police in Brentwood District today conducting rural road safety speeding checks. Using our new TruCam speed camera, we're responding to community concerns around speeding. 12 speeding motorists caught today. Tickets in the post.

Yesterday the team alongside Essex Police - Rural, Wildlife & Heritage Crime & EnvAgencyAnglia attended the Essex Police in Tendring District Clacton police station open day. They provided insight into the teams work in targeting Rural, Wildlife & Heritage crime. The team use partnership working to target these offences.

The team were busy over the weekend carrying out rural road safety speed checks. In Essex Police in Chelmsford District this car was seized for having no insurance. And in Essex Police in Rochford District several drivers were caught speeding in a 30mph zone.

Another speeding driver arrested following a positive drug test. Please don't risk it. #VisionZero

We've been at Colchester Cattle Market again today. We attend the market regularly to catch up with farmers from across the region. Today we were told about a dog attack on livestock. We're now working with the farmer to prevent future issues.

Patrols around rural @EPcolchester today. As well as villages we visited the defence training estate and engaged with dog owners and people using the area. Did you know Friday Woods training area is also a site of special scientific interest (SSSI)?

The team have been out in Essex Police in Uttlesford District today carrying out road safety speed checks, including in Leaden Roding. Whilst outside the primary school in Hatfield Heath we were invited to talk to the nursery class about staying safe around roads.

Today we've been carrying out cycle patrols in Essex Police in Chelmsford District as part of Operation Sceptre, tackling knife crime. The bikes help us access area's car's can't. Two males were caught smoking drugs under a canal bridge in the city centre and searched. #OpSceptre

Did you know the Port of Tilbury has its own police force with full police powers within the port? RET were hosted by Chief of Police, Mr Bass at the port. We discussed joint working, especially around the export of stolen vehicles and plant and how we can support each other.

Our enforcement sadly continues today. This was in a 30mph zone on the approach to a very busy Ingatestone High Street. The driver has been reported.

Its twins! Our second new Volvo XC60 has arrived. Fitted with front and rear camera's, Tracker to locate stolen vehicles, matrix board to display messages and full roads policing spec. Look out for us on the roads.

We had a great day at the Essex Young Farmers Show yesterday. Lots of visitors to our stand. Crime prevention leaflets and freebies given out.

The team were in Clacton today when they spotted this vehicle 'collecting' scrap. Checks on the driver show he is disqualified from driving. Vehicle seized, court date in the post 😠

Did you know there are legal limits on tinted windows? RET carry devices for measuring the amount of light let through. This car was stopped this morning in Essex Police in Chelmsford District. Windows were not legal so tints removed. Also, it didn't have an MOT so ticket issued.

Today patrols were conducted alongside Essex Police in Tendring District Frinton & Walton PCSO's within Walton-on-the-naze area, We visited the Naze Tower to speak about Rural, Wildlife & Heritage crime, alongside nesting birds and Dog theft. Good to see Kestrels nesting and being protected.

We had a patrol of Old Hall Marshes RPSB reserve in Essex Police in Maldon District today. Ground nesting birds can be found at this site and new signage makes clear where they are and not to disturb them. #shareourshores

Our #rural roads can be narrow & winding. Please be patient when you're passing vulnerable road-users, eg pedestrians, horses & their riders, cyclists and motorcyclists. They might see a hazard ahead that you can’t. And they all need extra space when you pass them in a vehicle.

The team have today recovered an off road buggy and Jet ski from the Essex Police in Chelmsford District area, whilst working alongside National Construction & Agriculture Theft Team. These were stolen overnight from the Essex Police in Colchester District area. We work hard to recover stolen items throughout the county. As a result of receiving reports of three people shooting on Essex Wildlife Trust #ColnePoint Nature reserve yesterday, three suspects were detained and an air rifle was seized. No people or wildlife were harmed. The rifle will be destroyed. See comments for advice on air weapon use.
