Just 3 days left to fill in the consultation on Denne Terrace & Dunston Road proposed public realm improvements! We say: Make the whole of Denne Tce car free & car-parking free Keep the fixed bollards on Dunston Rd (see: x.com/SteanStreet/st…) ✍️Online: consultation.hackney.gov.uk/streetscene/de…

consultation.hackney.gov.uk/streetscene/ma… Calling Victoria and London Fields #Hackney residents. Please fill out this consultation which will make the crossing on Mare Street much safer for cyclists and pedestrians. I lobbied for so long I'd almost given up hope, but delighted to see it now.

We call on the cabinet member for transport, Cllr Sarah J Young, to invite Active Travel England to independently assess the council’s proposals alongside the alternative design. hackneycitizen.co.uk/2024/10/15/cyc…

Downham Road: another Hackney failure Unbelievably Hackney Council's decision report failed to include HCC's official response: "We maintain... that a scheme on Downham Road that does not provide a safe cycle route will not contribute to model shift... Sarah J Young 1/

This is just embarrassing Hackney Council Sarah J Young for all the reasons written in the replies & many more. What benefit is there widening already-wide pavements, not putting in cycle track & claiming it's "play-friendly" on a busy road with no traffic reduction? 😔

In a rare outing for our opinion site, I’ve written about why councils seeking to ban bikes from city centres due to delivery bikes are treating it as a “cycling problem” when it’s actually a law enforcement problem - these are mainly electric mopeds. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

LAST DAY to input into Chatsworth Rd consultation! After a long delay following promises made 2+ years ago, this scheme is a watering down of the council's previously stated ambitions to extend the coverage of low traffic neighbourhoods across the borough. consultation.hackney.gov.uk/streetscene/he…
