I couldn't see the solar panels so borrowed an aerial shot. The battery & solar panels mean a new grid connection wasn't needed. The bank can be drip-fed from the existing connection & the majority is provided by solar panels (2/3).

Part of Network Rail's Trans Pennine Route Upgrade is to build a new viaduct over the River Calder and Calder & Hebble Navigation Canal. This will be Baker Viaduct, named after Stuart Baker, the railwayman who died in 2020 and the man behind the famous rail atlas.

Excellent article in the new RAIL magazine (Issue 964) by Professor Paul Salveson on the Analysis pages, entitled Station booking offices' ticket to a brighter future. Now we need a response from the DfT, Network Rail and the TOCs to Paul's sensible suggestions...

Getting freight off #Castlefield is a high priority to get rail services running reliably and efficiently through Manchester. Alternative routes must be found and support for rail freight encouraged.

A vital message for everyone. The primary beneficiaries of HS2 will be those who don’t use it! It’s the off-shoots it creates by giving intercity trains their own pair of tracks! CrossNorth Programme will do the same, starting with the Manchester bottleneck. #NorthernRail #HS2

This would sit close to the site of the proposed "Salford Interchange" near the location of the previous "Oldfield Rd." Station from way back. This plan could prevent any future transport investment in the area taking place which is bad for everyone. #Planning #Northern #Rail
