All the magic of academia is gone by then 😅 #academia #PhD #science #xp OpenAcademics Academic Chatter™

Words I’ve lived by in 2022 and will take with me to 2023 - “Because true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world, our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self-acceptance” - Brené Brown

We'll combine #NationalBirdDay & #TBT to revisit this lovely mute swan that was donated to us postmortem. We dissected it, did an amazing vascular injection, explored a healed fracture, & Emily (Caggiano) Rieff did a great "Dissecting with Emily" vid about it: youtu.be/do2TcqHl_Tc. 🦢

I join the rest of the paleo world in mourning the passing of the legendary Bob Harmon of the Museum of the Rockies. I met him 35 years ago in the field in Montana & saw him during my MOR visits, as in this one in 2017 where we worked on B-rex & Big Al, two of his many claims to fame.

Yesterday I gave my first in-person oral presentation of graduate school and it had a LOT of negative data. Thank you to Therapeutics & Pharmacology Graduate Program MD Anderson-UTH Grad for being so supportive of a transparent talk about how projects develop and change drastically during a PhD

Had a fantastic time presenting my research at #RadRes2024 Radiation Research Society ! Always exciting to see new FLASH research, make new connections and lab bonding (including a VERY competitive water slide competition). I even ran my first 5k since undergrad and explored Sabino Canyon

35 years ago day SUE the T. rex 🦖 (FMNH PR 2081) was discovered by Sue Hendrickson. Few dinosaur specimens are as impressive, and our team has had the privilege of studying the original fossils & CT scan data many times. As always, thanks go to the Field Museum for their support! 🦖
