We have a newly named park within #BrentRiverPark to explore🌿Previously a golf course, Pear Tree Park has native wildflower and grassland meadows, mown grass areas and (excitingly!) incoming wetland habitats all of which support our floodplain. Water Voles would love it here💙

This watercolour "Perivale Marshes", was painted by Hanwell artist Frederick H Coe around 1888. The Brent floodplain in Perivale was always a natural wetland, providing homes for water-loving creatures, like newts and water voles while preventing potential flooding downstream.

A Butterfly Emergency has been declared by Butterfly Conservation 🦋. Our #BrentRiverPark wildflower meadows faired better than many areas. The Big Butterfly Count walk on WarrenFarmNatureReserve yielded 11 species, including purple hairstreak. Urban green spaces can help bbc.in/3TwlINy
