THREAD. Today researchers announced the most comprehensive study ever on a bail reform. They studied over 500,000 misdemeanor cases and found that reducing the use of money bail in Houston led to big decreases in jailing and likely *decreased* future crime.

Average case take 8 settings 2 resolve. Accused only needs 2 show when needed. Allow accused 2 reschedule court date twice with no penalty. Have “open hours court” 2 allow people who missed their court date to get a new one. These are policies we put in place in Harris County
