Sexual indiscipline will ruin your life.

A subtle enemy creeping into the church is individualism. I pray more people will be discerning.

From the way we worship, pray, exegete the text, treat others and newcomers, treat the poor and vulnerable… It’s there. Staring us in the face. The church must be discerning and fiercely resist this enemy. In Mark 10:35-45, we see how Jesus treats this. He destroys it.

Remember the book of Philemon? That book was such a palpable show of how Christians view the past of a believer. We see our own past and we are humbled to the floor, when we see how useless without Christ that gives our lives value.

Joshua knows something we don’t. In accepting his past publicly, he shows that only Christ is the dividing line between him and the errors of his past. Something most of us are not courageous enough to do. To show people our ugliness? Not at all.
