my main problem with discord replacing reddit/forums is that if i have a problem with my router, i don’t wanna go join the router club and talk to router guys about it. i just wanna read a thread from 8 months ago where someone figured it out

3. Have a developed habit of working & problem solving in public. Team members leave breadcrumbs of what they are working on & show first drafts for early feedback or to mark progress. Because communication happens in an open forum there are fewer silos & surprises across teams.

Instead of asking me why I keep spilling water on your chair, perhaps you should ask yourself why you keep putting your water right where I need to stand

So, it is a terrible idea to use story points to measure productivity. Just terrible. Full stop. But the people I need to persuade of this are all fearful low level managers who feel they must prove themselves and are constantly asked to demonstrate progress.

@jduffyrice One thing I think people who don't have kids should know is that parents really *can * control if their babies' cry and actually we really like it when they do and if they stop for even a moment we try to get them to start again.

hilariously, two business bros tried to do exactly this with knitting a couple years ago. they knew nothing about knitting, but they had a 150K+ budget. they bought knitting dot com for 80K. they meant to be a 8 figure brand within a year. knitting fandom ATE THEM ALIVE.
