What a great collection of resources on how to do research for PhD students and beyond! I like the focus on meta-research skills (eg productivity systems). Took me too long to realize these skills are as important as hard-core research skills (e.g. coding, statistics).

Most people I know love getting thank-you cards. But I only know a handful who write them regularly. Why? This paper: we underestimate the positive effect of showing gratitude & overestimate how awkward it’ll be My reminder today: sincerely say thanks to someone I appreciate!

Data shows that women do worse than men on financial literacy tests 😔 Why? Paper by Annamaria Lusardi & co: it's not just due to a KNOWLEDGE gap, it also reflects a CONFIDENCE gap Sometimes women know less than men. But usually, women know more than they think they know!

Love this insight from Agnes Callard's book Aspiration Ambition is overrated. Aspiration is underrated Ambition=trying to get what you already want. Eg wanting to become a classical musician Aspiration=trying to learn to want something new. Eg wanting to value classical music
