This biphasic synovial sarcoma presented as a colon polyp. Dr. Domenika Ortiz Requena from our department has published the largest series of such cases. Ortiz Requena D, et al. Synovial Sarcoma of the Gastrointestinal Tract. Mod Pathol. 2024 Jan;37(1):100383. PMID: 37972927.

These small intestinal biopsies from a patient with markedly elevated serum IgM from a splenic plasmacytoid extranodal marginal zone (mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue) lymphoma show dramatic edema and IgM deposition that resulted in malabsorption. There is no lymphoma.

Amyloid deposition is common in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome, surprisingly so in this recent series. These images are of a Congo red stain, one using polarized light and showing apple green birefringence. PMID: 41345990.

Do we grade thyroid cancer? Yes. Per 2022 5th WHO: If you have a histologically differentiated tumor - Papillary carcinoma - Follicular carcinoma - Oncocytic carcinoma with tumor necrosis (punctate to extensive, excluding FNA changes) or ≥5 mitoses per 2 mm², then you can call

This is an ordinary mantle cell lymphoma of the colon - presenting as multiple nodular areas. However, more aggressive subtypes are in a spectrum with large B cell lymphomas. Li S, Tang G, Jain P, Lin P, Xu J, Miranda RN, Cheng J, Yin CC, You MJ, Wang ML, Medeiros LJ. SOX11+

This is an ordinary mantle cell lymphoma of the colon - presenting as multiple nodular areas.  However, more aggressive subtypes are in a spectrum with large B cell lymphomas.
