Ah I got it. So the solution to people being unable to see doctors is fewer doctor jobs and telling people not to do Medicine in the first place. With this attitude the UK deserves exactly what it is getting with the Noctor Health Service. #BMA1948

It’s time we realised the NHS is the antithesis of good quality care. The managers and politicians (with some enabling gong chasing senior doctors) only care about volume and tickbox “healthcare”. Doctors need to dissociate from the NHS and return to quality care. #BMA1948

It's the 27th September. About 8 months since this case raised to Care Quality Commission "It's under investigation" is- I am afraid- not enough So- we ask further. A Physician Assistant did a neurosurgical procedure on an unconscious patient- supervised by a trainee-as per notes

It's OK though, because if patients ask she explains she's not a doctor - and she's able to perform the role of a GP but not, apparently, capable of stepping on the toes of midwives...

Can we please stop using “but there aren’t enough doctors” as an excuse for filling medical gaps with people with no medical training? 1. If there aren’t enough doctors the only safe response is to recruit/retain doctors. 2. Most importantly: there ARE more than enough doctors.

The Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (ANNP) concluded OVER THE PHONE that the neonate was okay, without examining them. Jax died of volvulus.

I’m shocked Govt officials have used the media to overwhelm GPs & complain to their ICBs if GPs fail to deliver It’s unacceptable that patients are used & encouraged by MPs in positions of power Patients & GPs deserve better & are at breaking point Sky News Wes Streeting

Iain Beardsell Jen Johnston Kreed Kafer Ian Higginson GMC I said at the start of this that I expected to regret commenting. I think there are very real issues here, and I think we devalue and insult our doctor trainees by using the language of equivalence carelessly. They are not in a position to and do not feel safe commenting.

They are not, and never will be, a threat to MY job. Only a threat to YOUR job. What fantastic leadership from this generation of consultants. #AskForADoctor #BeKindToThePatient

Neena Jha A first year Trainee ACP ordered X-rays on me, reviewed them and discharged me. I was pushed into a waiting area on a wheelchair shaking violently. I attended a different hospital 10 days later ..... L1 compression fracture, 3 pelvic fractures and 2 posterior rib fractures.

To repeat: Flooding the system with lesser trained people - needing greater supervision- and thereby making the senior medics less efficient -contributes to lesser productivity. Anyway.
