Humility is the key to keep the doors of our schoolhouse open. There is no limit to our growth, learning and performance when we’re humble enough to seek out and accept outside answers, willing to learn from both the elders AND the "youngers" in our lives! #thewarriorwithin

Our minds can be our worst enemy when we let negative loops play. Ask “are these thoughts useful?” and if not, stop! Then ask, “what CAN I do to better the situation?” and take action. The quicker we work this through, the quicker we get unstuck & back on track. #thewarriorwithin

Had a wonderful experience serving Sheryl Fryberg and her staff of the Tulalip Tribe's Betty J. Taylor Early Learning Academy which focuses on early childhood education. Everyone got books and see if you can find a few held up in the shot (like Where's Waldo)! #thewarriorwithin

On gratitude, by Tecumseh: “When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light, for your life & strength. Give thanks for your food & the joy of living, If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies with yourself.” So focus on the good! #thewarriorwithin

Please reflect on our U.S. military members this Memorial Day who've fallen both while performing their duty...and afterwards, from the invisible mortal wounds they carried home. We owe debts we can’t repay but can hold them in honor where they all belong. #thewarriorwithin

"Fighters" use their talent, ability, self-discipline and focused effort to achieve victory for themselves (critical in self-development). Once they've developed, fighters can become "warriors", using those same assets to now help others achieve victory. #thewarriorwithin

As leaders we must practice humility to accept (and seek) outside answers, resources, good ideas from others, etc. to keep progressing. Or else our ego traps us into a corner and unwilling to admit the glaring truth...we don't know everything! #thewarriorwithin

In navigating change, stay flexible in how your reach your goals. Goals may remain the same, but tactics (how we get there) can, and sometimes must, change. After all, there’s "more than one way to skin a cat"…actually that’s a terrible quote (cat's hate it), but you get it.

Here's a short clip from a recent podcast, The Athletic-Minded Man w/ Jim Harshaw, that highlights the importance of continuous growth and creating the right environment with the friends we choose. Enjoy and Happy Friday! #thewarriorwithin

Here's another short clip from my recent podcast appearance on our tendency to catastrophize when things go sideways, what we can do instead, and why you should NEVER criticize yourself. Enjoy! #thewarriorwithin

We get what we focus on. Our time and effort can be concentrated on our goals to get results…or scattered to the wind, leaving us stagnant. The worst thing we can do as warriors in battle is to divide and conquer ourselves. Stay focused, keep fighting forward! #thewarriorwithin

Our goals can be scary because they touch on one of our greatest fears, fear of the unknown. But we breathe life into our goals when we tap into our warrior spirit and take action. Get out of your own way and remember: Fear is the door. Courage is the key! #thewarriorwithin

Courage is more often found in facing emotional “dangers” more than physical ones – saying we’re sorry, admitting we don’t know or made a mistake, picking up the phone, starting a project, asking big questions, or for help – all take courage. Use yours! #thewarriorwithin

Warriors took care of their bodies, minds and spirits. They understood that you can’t protect, defend or fight for anyone else if you can’t do it for yourself first. YOU are the only YOU that you will EVER have or be...Act accordingly! #thewarriorwithin

We talk about diets for the body constantly (i.e. avoid junk food, empty calories) but forget we need a diet for our minds too. Provide healthy, hearty ideas that feed character, growth, joy & bring out our best; avoid gossip, negativity & fear-focused talk. #thewarriorwithin
