Ran 20 meter flys at practice today with a 10 meter split time (Dashr) to see if my athletes were still accelerating through the zone after a 30 meter push. 52% of my athletes ran the second 10 faster than the first, with the top three fastest times of the day being the back 10

Steven's Pod is a wealth of knowledge! I was honored to share some ideas that have worked well for us over the years and learn from Steven in the process. Check out all of his episodes, you won't regret it!

I am genuinely asking so please provide concrete evidence or insights. How has AAU basketball/soccer/ volleyball, 7on7, and the like added value to young athletes and their recruiting endeavors? Do you think it is a necessity in the current recruiting climate? Please share.

This is what I did my dissertation on… long story short. If you don't have a plan, a purpose, or a progression for how you are going to teach the specialized skill of sprinting, get on it!

Hot take: Speed ladders don’t make you faster. They just make you look like you’re late to hopscotch practice. Want to actually get faster? Sprint. Lift. Jump. Rest. Repeat. Fast feet ≠ fast athlete. Train like you mean it—not like you’re trying out for a boy band.

Only 6 dissertations have been defended with distinction in the history of the program. I’m honored to be one. Three stats from my study’s population: ✅106 total coaches ✅1378 years of experience ✅48 of the coaches had won a state or national title in the last 5 years

My wife and I decided a little over a year ago when we moved to not put up a TV in the new house. We have no streaming services, no cable, nothing. I would highly suggest it. Both financially, and from a family perspective it has been a blessing!

Best practice means nothing if not implemented Schools ignore research showing later start times boost sleep grades and mental health Coaches overlook science on rest and load management risking athlete burnout and injury Evidence must trump tradition in education and sports

Men talk about protecting their family… but can’t do a single pull-up. You’re not a warrior, you’re winded. Lift weights. Eat Meat. Stretch sometimes. Or keep pretending that “tired” is a personality.
