Gr 8 Band is learning expressive terms in music. Today we applied them in a game of charades. Gr 6 Band played sound charades. Once restrictions lift, we hope to play it again using our instruments. Saw four robins today and….

More than anything, I remember the sense of belonging given to me through music. I felt part of the wind band, I felt part of the choir, I felt part of the jazz band, I felt part of the orchestra, and I felt part of the Music Department. Feeling like you belong is so important.

For me, music is about love. The love of the instrument. The love of the music. The love of the ensembles. The love of the people I’ve met. The love of the feeling it gives me. The love of the experiences it has afforded me. The love of the person it has made me. I love music.
