Having rehearsed James McCarthy's amazing ‘Codebreaker’ for two years now, we’re easily blown away by the beauty of the music in this piece, its melodies and dynamics. Perhaps even a little blasé? It’s a gorgeous piece of music after all. ... (1/4)

Why does everybody keep complaining about this government? They’re doing brilliantly. For example my car used to only hold £65 of petrol, now it holds £90 worth. That’s way more than a couple of years ago when Jeremy Corbyn was Prime Minister.

My truly heartfelt thanks to everyone for such a SENSATIONAL performance of Codebreaker at The Sage in Gateshead yesterday. I'm a very lucky composer indeed. Thank you to Hertfordshire Chorus, Newcastle Choral Society, Ruth Jenkins, Mark Anyan, and my brother-in-arms @DTConductor

On January 1st, 2021, Brussels introduced a 30 km/h (18 mph) citywide speed limit. Within one year, overall speeds decreased 9%, collisions 22%, fatalities 50%, and traffic noise up to 50% (depending on the surface). Journey times by car were identical or even slightly shorter.

We did our bit to Keep Britain Tidy in Gosforth this morning as 12 of us collected 25 bags of mixed rubbish, three (plastic recyclable!) empty fuel containers, one kitchen sink and a police cone. All along half a mile of the Great North Road.

Good litter pick today with 12 litter pickers, not great weather but great enthusiasm. Someone had kindly left a mattress by the side of the road so half of our bags were added to it for collection later by #NewcastleCC. Another one next month. We will win.

Another successful #litterpick today where we cleared ALL the litter from the side of the Great North Road towards town. It's never looked better!

The council apologises for omitting the full stop after 'crocodiles' on this sign at the Municipal Lake, which resulted in 38 bathers being eaten over Coronation weekend.

Good afternoon (or morning, or evening). I went dark yesterday, really dark. But I managed to sleep and I have some clarity about the Al Ahli hospital massacre that I want to share with you. I'll only tweet this rambling thread today and then log off. Please read and share.
