Junior doctors in Scotland have voted overwhelmingly to strike for full pay restoration. Our ballot had a 71.5% turnout, with a 97% yes vote. A huge mandate for strike action in Scotland. In one year, we have transformed our union. We have won the first ever BMA Scotland ballot

Critical care can create a legacy for patients. We need to understand what is important to patients. Paternalism is rife, please check with patients before you commit them to "for full escalation"...whatever that means...

Today, we announce a 3rd round of industrial action from 14 – 17 June. The Government’s 5% pay increase offer is an insult to junior doctors in England.

Time to arrest these individuals. 7 consultants raising concerns AFTER external reviews is ENOUGH to trigger an investigation. They are equally culpable in the deaths of these innocent babies. #LucyLetbyTrial @CNOEngland

@CNOEngland Please DO NOT apologise on my behalf! A trail has convicted a murderer. Instead of this insulting and ridiculous tweet, how about a thorough investigation into Alison Kelly & Karen Rees and robust systems for MANAGERS to ensure this never happens again!

This isn’t a pay offer, it’s back door contractual reform. Short term benefits are heavily skewed towards older consultants at the apparent expense of younger consultants who MAY benefit long term. Need to look at detail but feels like a NO from me #divideandrule Vishal Sharma.

The more I look at the suggested deal, the less it looks like a pay offer and the more it looks like attempted contract reform on the sly…

For many consultants in first 7 yrs this offer is actually a pay CUT because they will no longer receive a share of the equally distributed LCEA pot (as many trusts have been doing since COVID) as it no longer exists. This is ridiculous! BMA Consultants Vishal Sharma

An honest conversation about prognosis is all it takes to change the course of someone’s treatment and illness. It’s their right to have this information and not for us HCPs to withhold or gatekeep. This one is very close to home Ollie Minton
