Hey guys, the time has come to stop demanding a ceasefire. What we should be demanding is the following: 1. A full & complete arms embargo on Israel 2. Sanctions of Israel & its politicians 3. Countries to comply with the UNGA resolutions and ICJ judgements on apartheid

We wish we had better news. But as of now, #MarcellusWilliams is still scheduled to be executed by Missouri tonight at 6 p.m. central for a crime he is totally innocent of. Don’t stop sharing his story. It’s not too late to save an innocent life. innocenceproject.org/petitions/stop…

To approximately 93% of the hot takes on immigration, listen, no one’s agreeing or disagreeing with you, most of what you said is so factually inaccurate and incoherent it’s literally impossible to formulate a meaningful response.

This is wrong. ICE’s non-detained docket includes many people whose cases ended years ago and who can’t be deported due to legal, diplomatic or humanitarian issues. The number of people on the docket with convictions rose just 15% in 9 years — while the docket itself rose 225%.

At every point Israel could have chosen to de-escalate, they did the opposite. At each of those points, other parties often tried to avoid being as proportionally violent — they actually pushed, urged the US to just step up and say Enough. The US never did. And here we are.

New! 🚨 We American Immigration Council published new estimates of the costs of mass deportations. We find: - Mass deportations would cause GDP to drop by 4.2-6.8%, more than the Great Recession. - The annual cost to arrest, detain, process, and remove 1 million people would be $88 billion.

✨ Today marks the start of our Road to Día de los Muertos 🕯️💐, where we honor the lives lost during migration 🦋 due to CBP and Border Patrol’s inhuman policies.

Lance Corporal Haidar is among 148 residents we have been desperately trying to help evacuate from Lebanon. One of my constituents was already killed in an Israeli airstrike. The Department of State is leaving Americans behind and failing to protect their own citizens.

**Update: After personally calling the Department of State and demanding that they do their job, Lance Corporal Haidar was finally put on a flight—but was unable to bring his wife. Our government’s lack of urgency to get Americans out of Lebanon is shameful.
