I spent a very enjoyable morning, at the AGM of the Sandwell & Walsall Citizens Advice Service, meeting some great people who do lots of inspiring work, offering vital advice to residents. It was a pleasure to meet Councillor Syeda Khatun the Mayor of Sandwell, a strong advocate of CAB.

This morning, I attended a site visit at Bloxwich Launchpad, on the site of the old Bloxwich Post Office. It's on schedule to open at the end of Spring 2025. This exciting, brand new centre will support digital skills, emerging businesses, & training in Bloxwich. Walsall Labour

We had a very good turnout for our first Walsall Labour campaign session of 2025, in Blakenall, this morning. I really enjoyed speaking to residents.

At Walsall Full Council last night I raised the issue of the derelict Leathern Bottle site in Bloxwich, which has had roughly 15 years of neglect by our Conservative Council! Walsall Labour

I have never missed a single Walsall Council Meeting. Therefore, I can't be the only one to spot the irony, of being totally misrepresented & repeatedly given sanctimonious lectures in the Council chamber & on Facebook, with 4 out of 7 Tory backbench seats vacant. #lookbehindyou

This afternoon I was delighted to celebrate the transformation of Baileys Pool in Bloxwich, by meeting at the site, senior representatives from Enovert, the Canal & River Trust & Walsall Healthy Spaces. A great example of a partnership of volunteers, with public/private financing

I had a really good time at the West Midlands Labour Party Gala Dinner at the Coventry Arena last night. It was a great opportunity to celebrate how far we have come, particularly in Walsall Labour since the last Gala Dinner in the Autumn of 2022.

On 13th January the Conservative Deputy Leader informed us that there would be a Leathern Bottle planning proposal by the end of February. I have been given no explanation for why it is not here yet. Walsall Labour

It was an honour to be invited to the St Peter’s, Bloxwich Food-bank to draw out the Grand Prize Draw winners, this morning. It raised over £260! This wonderful group of volunteers do their amazing work every Monday between 10 am and 12 pm. Please do get in touch if you can help.

Yesterday, I was again part of a West Midlands Civil Service Netball Team competing against other UK regions, on a very sunny day at Warwick Uni. Drawn in the Group of Death we beat London East & East Midlands, but lost to Newcastle & Manchester. I enjoyed stints as both GK & GD

I will be celebrating a year of being your Councillor, tomorrow at my Surgery. But what a challenging week it has been in Bloxwich, with the residents of Shrewsbury Close foremost in my thoughts. If you need support, advice, or just want to talk, come along to Bloxwich Library.

This morning, I attended the flag-raising ceremony at Walsall Council House to mark 80 year since VE Day. It was a reminder of the incredible struggles that so many in Walsall, in the UK, and across the whole world went through, during the 2nd World War. We will remember them.

I have just been for a wonderful Birmingham Canal walk with my amazing Dad. I know how incredibly lucky I am to have him!
