Daylight Savings begins this weekend. Before you go and buy batteries, check your detectors to ensure that they do not need to be replaced too. Smoke detectors should be replaced every 10 years. Find the date that the detector was made by looking on the back of the detector.

As you prepare your spring cleaning list, don't forget to include cleaning your gutters. When clearing, keep your leaves and branches pile 10 feet or more from your home.

Fire crews from Cottleville and Central County Fire & Rescue rescued two residents from their beds at fire at Harvester Residential Care early this morning. One resident was transported to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters. The fire was controlled quickly by crews. x.com/RogueRunnerSTL…

Prevent fires by being safe with common chemicals used in the garage. Store oily and solvent-wet rags in a tightly sealed metal container and then discard them.

As the weather gets nicer and the grass gets greener, many will be pulling out the mowers and trimmers. Remember when refueling any small motor to ensure that the motor has cooled prior to adding fuel. Spilled fuel can easily ignite and cause serious burns.
