An ocean world like K2-18b is unlikely to produce more DMS/DMDS biologically than Earth. Without land, other key nutrients are limited, restricting the size of the biosphere. If that's life, it's life as we don't know it. 🧐

K2-18b is a compelling candidate in the search for habitable worlds, but the current data offers a possibility, not proof. This is an exciting step forward in astrobiology, not a breakthrough. More observations are needed before drawing any conclusions. npr.org/2025/04/16/nx-…
