An ocean world like K2-18b is unlikely to produce more DMS/DMDS biologically than Earth. Without land, other key nutrients are limited, restricting the size of the biosphere. If that's life, it's life as we don't know it. ๐Ÿง

K2-18b is a compelling candidate in the search for habitable worlds, but the current data offers a possibility, not proof. This is an exciting step forward in astrobiology, not a breakthrough. More observations are needed before drawing any conclusions. npr.org/2025/04/16/nx-โ€ฆ

Our NASA Webb Telescope Telescope is paving the way for a new era in the search for life, but context is key. While it is not designed to detect signs of life, it is unlocking clues about the potential habitability of worlds outside our solar system. Learn how: go.nasa.gov/4itKbNj

Is there really life on planet K2-18b? We canโ€™t rule it out, but some key questions must be answered | Nathalie Cabrol A new study of a sphere orbiting a red dwarf star 124 light years from Earth is raising hopes. Hereโ€™s why the evidence is inconclusive: theguardian.com/commentisfree/โ€ฆ

When our #submersible droids begin to explore the seas of Enceladus, Europa, Titan Mimas, Ceres, etc. what will we find? Coral-like communities? Something else? Let's get started and find out. #astrobiology

Itโ€™s easy to forget that we live in a paradise. The Galaxy is largely a barren, frozen and unimaginably hostile landscape, yet it contains our world - a spectacular jewel of the cosmos.
