This seems to imply that NASA has discovered 5602 exoplanets, but really many others have contributed and I think it’s better to say the “NASA Exoplanet Archive lists 5602 confirmed exoplanets”

That was just staggering. You just can’t explain how it feels to see that. The Sun somehow appeared larger, a homogenous flat twilight, bright corona and even visible pink flares, the sounds of the insects and birds… best thing I’ve ever seen.

I’m curious if anyone has good stats for % of Astro PhDs that end up in tenure-track? The 10% number I quoted here is just a kind of rumor-mill level value.
