Plastic is an environmental justice issue. 🌍 Countries in the Global South & SIDS produce little plastic but face disproportionate risks - as do frontline communities and informal sector workers. The #PlasticsTreaty must drive a just transition to a fair, circular economy.

Plastic comes at a cost. But who should pay? Currently the Global South bears the burden, despite contributing little. 🌍 The #PlasticsTreaty must drive equitable financing to protect communities impacted by #plasticpollution & build a just transition to a circular economy.

The final round of #PlasticsTreaty negotiations have begun! A delegation from Common Seas is on the ground in Busan to support negotiators to agree an ambitious treaty. This is a historic opportunity to stop the flow of #PlasticPollution and secure a healthy future for all.
