The Ocean Cleanup is currently testing System 03, a massive plastic pollution collection device that captures tons of floating debris in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

BREAKING: We just made our largest ever plastic catch. Interceptor 006 in the Rio Las Vacas, Guatemala, stopped 272 truckloads of trash - equal to 1.4 million kg (3.1 million lbs) - from flowing into the Caribbean Sea. All in a single evening.

The Ocean Cleanup is back in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch with System 03.

Our prototype Interceptor 001 in the Cengkareng Drain in Jakarta, Indonesia, has been operational for 5 years today, with a total catch of over 370,000 kg of trash.🇮🇩
