Sorry, not a pretty picture, but the message must come across. Closed yabby nets are death traps to platypuses and rakali! They're banned in NSW but still in use. Four drowned platypus and one rakali found in Dorrigo this week @NSWDPE @nswdpi BellingenRoadInfo

A few frog friends for #AmphibianWeek2022. Max de Beer and I saw these guys at Dharawal NP and Murramarang NP in NSW. All different Litoria sp. Happy #AmphibianWeek !!

While we were sitting listening to Powerful Owls call, Isabella CK spotted this slug chowing down on a mushroom 🥰🍄 #WildOz #DharawalCountry

The Grassland Earless Dragon is a beautiful little animal living on the Monaro Plains, which is sadly threatened by changes to its habitat. George Madani and Bridget Roberts have created this page to help raise awareness of their dire situation instagram.com/p/CezVDT3B9IC/…

Sauroconcha gulosa. Has been a good year to monitor this Illawarra endemic. Also a good year for Rusa Deer. Of note - more trampled snails and an uphill movement of feral Garden Snails as native veg is replaced by weeds. Invasive Species Council Isabella CK Invertebrates Australia 🪲

🚨New year, new paper!🚨The #dreamteam (Brenton von Takach @eco_jolly Tom Parkin @alanadelaive) here used a huge dataset of snakes caught along an urban-rural matrix and compared life history traits to space-use (niche-breadth) 1/n link.springer.com/article/10.100…

Co-led with Rose and with support from Patrice Pottier, Shinichi Nakagawa | 中川震一, Maider, and Daniel Noble 🇦🇺🇨🇦 . We used both experimental and meta-analytic approaches to investigate how developmental environments affect offspring thermal traits (tpref and ctmax) royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rs… 1/3

One of the best moments in my career. The rediscovery of the Victorian Earless Dragon. In 2019 I undertook the taxonomic research to show this little lizard was a unique species, different to those in the ACT & NSW. So, so pleased it is not extinct! Museums Victoria
