Chaotic, fragmented and localised - a new electorate for 2029. Quick piece by me for LabourList digging a little deeper into the remarkable and unprecedented GE result and looking ahead to ensure we win again. labourlist.org/2024/08/labour…

Key point from Daniel Finkelstein There are (elsewhere) legitimate democratic debates about immigration in the election, parliament, the media. This racist violence and disorder is no part of that democratic debate - in either form or substance. thetimes.com/comment/column…

This from Daniel Finkelstein gets to heart of why seeing the riots as the need for conversations about immigration is (imo) misguided. We should and will have debates about immigration, racism & integration - but not as a response to acts of violence and hate. thetimes.com/comment/column…

Fantastic news! Shreya Nanda will be a brilliant and dedicated Councillor. And as a bonus, she is a powerful voice for getting the homes built that London needs.

Strong words from Chris Curtis MP and Labour Growth Group. He's right. Ministers and Whitehall are the caretakers of decline. We are in a GROWTH EMERGENCY and an ENERGY CRISIS. If the government is to change the country they must do so NOW with force and radical action.

The moral case for planning reform could not be clearer, as Chris Curtis MP highlights We want to see a world where children aren’t growing up in temporary accommodation and families aren’t saddled down by obscene energy bills That’s why we’re builders, not blockers

As a 15yo mum, I was told what happened was my fault. Kemi Badenoch had power, yet did not meet one victim, or speak about grooming once. I do not know how she dares try & score points now. Thank god we have a gov that is taking violence against women & girls seriously.
