Volunteers who look after the #ThamesPath and The Ridgeway National Trail appreciate cooling off after a hot day brush-cutting and mowing. Here's Steve taking a quick dip at Shiplake on Friday! #ThamesPath25 #volunteer #wildswimming

By scrapping the #HS2 extension to Leeds the government are abandoning their central economic case. While tearing up the Chilterns AONB & endangering our ecology this decision to axe the Eastern leg is an insult to the people of Chesham & Amersham. bbc.in/30yPQ2L

#Autumn in the #Chilterns today on a long ramble in perfect autumn weather, catching the woods before the trees become denuded.

The Common Stag Beetle is not so common anymore. It depends on trees and woods for its survival, with larvae feeding on the decaying wood of old broadleaved trees. The beech woodlands of @ChilternsAONB provide a refuge.

Regularly putting out food with high fat content in your garden makes a significant contribution to supporting British wildlife over winter. It is also a great way to watch birds, even in the smallest of gardens or balconies, often at very close quarters. #BigGardenBirdWatch
