Yesterday these fish were alive, yesterday our brook was teeming with invertebrates, yesterday the dipper, the kingfisher and the coots had food for their imminent offspring but today there is nothing.. angry beyond belief #Springwatch #SHROPSHIRE #Rivercide George Monbiot

Filmed yesterday. Over a year ago I interviewed Southern Water about this very issue - RAW DIESEL SPILLING into the Lower River Test. They told me they were ‘looking into it’. They then threatened litigation if I released the interview and today the oil still spills and kills.

⚠️😡Make no mistake, we are angry. This Government has today launched an attack on nature. We don’t use the words that follow lightly. We are entering uncharted territory. Please read this thread. 1/13

Awful pics but can any knowledgeable people confirm if I did see a Cetti’s Warbler today in RSPB Weymouth Wetlands or, was it a wren (spotted one moments before). There was Cetti’s noise but no specific chirping from this exact one to help confirm my sighting. Dorset Bird Club

What an extraordinary story. Our local MP Chris Loder, appears to have arranged for the police to make home visits, to 2 of his constituents, because they signed up to attend a public meeting where he was speaking. Does Loder think the Dorset Force is there to do his bidding? 1/

The estate that Dorset Police refused to search after discovery of poisoned eagle is the same location where gamekeeper was today convicted of multiple raptor persecution crimes. Astonishing revelation in this new blog ⬇️⬇️ raptorpersecutionuk.org/2023/01/04/the…

Got soaked to the skin but it was worth it for my first sight of Fulmers preparing to nest in the cliffs near Durdle Door. Beautiful to watch their particular nesting behaviours (from a distance).

May I have a bit of id help please? Two distant shots from Dorchester water meadows, Dorset 5pm tonight. Bird ID App says Garganey (f) - she had 6+ ducklings - and a solo Green Sandpiper both of which seem a bit unusual, no? Is the ID App correct? Dorset Bird Club RSPB

#30DaysWild started in Weymouth with a mission to find as many different butterflies as I could. Actually quite difficult. There were found in RSPB Weymouth Wetlands, Lorton Meadows and Lodmoor Country Park Dorset Wildlife Trust

My first sighting of an Eider Duck. I’d no idea they could look so other worldly. New favourite bird! North Berwick. #BirdsSeenIn2023 #30DaysWild

Got back to Brum from Greenland, then was burgaled while sleeping. All camera gear, laptops, cards, passports, taken. My lovely van too: crucial to kayak trips & full of gear. It's distinctive, so if anyone near spots this grey VW Transporter with kayak racks please get in touch!

I stumbled upon a lively butterfly meadow (100+) near Maiden Castle this morning with only a phone camera. Can anyone tell me if it’s an Essex or a Small Skipper, please? As well as Ringlets, Marbled Whites and Gatekeepers there were Wood Browns and Red Admirals too. 🦋🧡💛

Is there a butterfly explosion this year in Dorset? I was able to see and photograph 9 different types on a 2hr walk around the outskirts of Poundbury today without any bother. Most common were the Skippers. #Butterflies #DORSET

Bad pic but chuffed to see Silver Washed Fritillary in Weymouth today. It was hanging round with a Comma butterfly so I almost missed it. Common Blue and a nice spotty moth too. At Lorton Meadows

Female Vagrant Darter Dragonfly, a Damselfly and a Grayling Butterfly. Not bad for a windy walk around Silverlake, Dorset.

Global's annual accounts always a fun read! They owe their shareholder (Tabor family) £1.5bn and are paying 7.5% interest above BofE base rate. Cost of servicing the debt (and other finance costs) was around £210m and took their operating profit of £87m to a loss of around £120m
