Connecting SI to Brooklyn by fast ferry has been one of my long-standing transportation priorities. I raised it again at this year’s budget hearing. The new proposal is a step in the right direction, and I remain committed to making sure this becomes a reality for our residents.

Grateful to our first responders for their swift and courageous actions in neutralizing the shooter at 345 Park Avenue. Our hearts are with the injured officer and civilians impacted by this senseless act of violence. We’re praying for their full and speedy recovery.

We are heartbroken by the loss of Officer Didarul Islam, who gave his life to protect our city. His courage reflects the quiet bravery shown by so many in the NYPD each day. Our prayers are with his wife, two young sons, and the child they are expecting.
