This is unbelievable! Job plan looks a lot less stressful than mine and no service unlike Radiology trainees. Same deanery as my trainees, only they’ve not been invited to learn at RBH….

What is a radiologist?

It’s very simple. If you are a consultant you train those less senior and experienced so they can become senior in their turn. It’s part of the deal. If you rely on PAs it potentially calls into question your integrity on this.

Shout out to radiologists: don’t forget that in DGHs they’re fellow generalists! Got flummoxed by a case in ED today. Multiple potentially scary co-morbidities. Unsure if imaging would help. So my radiology consultant colleague helped me untangle it in a peaceful quiet dark room!

Have just seen Lidl are selling a children’s radiology department for Christmas.!! Don’t even care if the x-rays are inaccurate- I love them. Could have done with a mini CT or MR scanner instead of a sink though.

Dear GMC, please can you explain your hardline attitude to the resident doctor victims of the MRCP scandal (forbidding them from proceeding with higher training applications), when you are quite happy to have PAs on SpR on-call rotas with no MRCP, nor even a medical degree?
