Of the 343M+ people facing extreme hunger worldwide, nearly 60% are women & girls. Women are on the frontlines fighting hunger, often in the most fragile places. When women are supported, communities thrive. #IWD2025

Thank you Norway and Espen Barth Eide for continuing to speak up for peace, multilateralism, and humanitarian principles everywhere. 🇳🇴 From Gaza to Sudan, we are determined to work together to ensure that people get the life-saving food and humanitarian assistance they need.

🔴 Since March 2, WFP has been unable to transport any food supplies into #Gaza and is forced to reduce the quantity of food families receive in order to stretch supplies. 🔴 During the first 42 days of ceasefire, WFP was able to support 1.3 million people with food assistance.

Syrian mothers still struggling to feed their children. Swift tangible humanitarian dividends for the people of #Syria is crucial, also to bring peace and stability. World Food Programme has the presence & capacity to scale up support, but more funding is needed. Hope #SyriaConf25 will deliver.

Good talks with EU colleagues in Brussels about World Food Programme operations in Gaza, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, Sahel, and more. Beyond the humanitarian imperative, food security is also key for stability. In times of change, continued predictable support and leadership from EU is critical.

.World Food Programme is outraged and heartbroken by the loss of a UNOPS colleague, killed in a grave security incident in Gaza. Five more colleagues are severely injured. This is UNACCEPTABLE. Humanitarians are #NotATarget.

Thank you to humanitarians who risk everything for this mission, and those they leave behind. After another tough day for our UN team and civilians in Gaza, my statement.👇 bit.ly/4l3d711

Great conversations with numerous counterparts from across the world in Antalya Diplomacy Forum today. My main messages: 1) Addressing food insecurity is a humanitarian imperative, but also essential for stability. 2) More funding urgent to address soaring needs. #ADF2025

Shocked and horrified: 9 team members from World Food Programme’s partner Relief International were killed while saving lives in Zamzam camp, a place gripped by famine. We mourn this senseless loss & stand with their families, loved ones, and all at Relief International. Humanitarians are #NotATarget.

Honored to have attended mass in memory of His Holiness Pope Francis. A tireless voice for the poor and hungry. When we met, he gave us a book he'd written & joked "You can read it if you have trouble sleeping". May his compassion, humility and sense of humor continue to inspire

WFP is doing everything possible to deliver emergency food supplies into #Gaza. Even at these levels, it’s still just a drop in the ocean, WFP's Antoine Renard explains ⤵️ 📣Humanitarian assistance must be scaled up, and sustained, before it is too late, for far too many.

A targeted strike hit a joint World Food Programme UNICEF convoy in Sudan.   5 convoy team members were killed. Trucks torched. Food for families facing famine in El Fasher—destroyed.   This is unconscionable. Humanitarians are #NotATarget. We demand safe, unhindered access NOW.

Five members of a World Food Programme - UNICEF humanitarian convoy were killed & several more injured in an attack in North Darfur on Monday. I condemn this horrendous act of violence. This was the first United Nations humanitarian convoy that was going to make it to El Fasher in more than a year. It's
