Global surface temperatures set a new record in 2024, exceeding 1.5C above preindustrial levels in the majority of datasets. It was more than 0.1C warmer than the prior record set in 2023, and more than 0.25C warmer than any year prior to that.

This analysis of the ocean heat content is very important and add complementary evidence to the results presented today .

Its pretty stark just how much warmer 2023 and 2024 were globally than any prior year on record.
