Today, Wildlife Trust Wales presented at the Welsh Rivers Summit in Cardiff, attended by the First Minister for Wales. Our rivers across Wales, such as the River Wye, are dying, and urgent action, particularly on farm pollution, is needed to save them 🌊💧

The Ralaghan Idol • Late Bronze Age • Cavan This striking figure was hewn from yew around 3,000 years ago. It was found deep in a Cavan bog, on what was once an ancient boundary.   It is now on display in the Kingship and Sacrifice exhibition in the National Museum of Ireland.

Abstract Art? No, the surface of a Yellow Fever mosquito egg! The species attaches its eggs to manmade material shipped all over the world. This adaptation has helped its spread, and by extension diseases such dengue fever across the globe #Museum30 #Abstraction

What a quote praising the returning WW1 soldiers for their academic study in Botany Aberystwyth University . One can't help think that studying plants must have had a healing effect on them after the horrors they had experienced.

Happy #TombTuesday folks 🎉 Here is the fabulous Poulnabrone chambered tomb on the #Burren limestone of County Clare. An incredible, famous - if diminutive - #Neolithic sacred site 🥰 📷 My own, August 2023

Thick, natural woodland lines the banks and islands of Lough Derg, Co Tipperary. A picture of how most of Ireland once was. Nature needs, we need, SO much more of this. #Rewilding 🌍
