I still can’t believe Black ppl willingly gave their DNA to a random company who is now selling it to God Knows Who! Just to be told they’re from countries that weren’t even officially established until at least 100 years after their ancestors were already in this country.

I read with and alongside my two children (7 & 1). We also have dedicated reading times that are specifically for quiet time together, while we read our perspective books (ofc this looks a little different for my 12 month old) — time together + leading by example is a win/win
