Back to work on this one! I’ve been playing around with a lot more layering and indirect painting with these clouds than I typically use, and so far I like the results. The sky is close enough to being finished that I’m ready to move on to the background trees.

No...this isn't a re-post...I decided to do a little (16x16 inches) study to work out some of the details in the background trees. I got caught up in the clouds though...so those trees will have to wait day or two...

I’m just putting a few finishing touches on this study of clouds and background foliage. If you look closely…you may be able to spot the rocket I hid behind some trees. This painting is 16x16 inches, oil on aluminum panel, and is available.

More progress on this 32x40-inch painting! The background is finished up to the point where I can begin painting the figure. In other words: now for the fun part!

This custom, 32x40-inch , aluminum composite panel is primed, and ready for the new commission project. This painting is designed to be hung without a frame, so the sides are finished and two hanging methods are incorporated into the panel.

The figure still needs more work, but it's far enough along now that I can let it dry before blocking in the grass and flowers in the foreground.

I went back to sign this 16x16 inch background study, and decided I wasn't happy with the foreground grass...so I repainted it. A small difference, but I like it sooo much better now. This one is available!
