Fresh off the press! I'm proud to share that we have two new papers out now in Cerebral Cortex! See thread below to learn more about what we’ve uncovered in the hippocampus and entorhinal cortex (1/4) tinyurl.com/3d3bwpxx tinyurl.com/42mnhmhv

Memory scientists Morgan Barense, @_chris__martin_ and colleagues have shown their HippoCamera app being developed at University of Toronto can improve memory recall by as much as 50% and could benefit people in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. 1/2 Learn more: bit.ly/3H9fnlz

I'm so excited this is out!! We wrote a review about how the nature of statistical learning may change with development. Feeling very lucky to have had the dream team of mentors to think (and write) about these issues with ⭐️ Amy Finn Meg Schlichting Duncan Lab

My big postdoc project with Charan Ranganath is officially out in Nature Communications! We analyzed this dataset to death, and I know many of you have seen some version of it a bunch over the past few years, but it's nice to see the final version out 🙂 nature.com/articles/s4146…

What is the nature and function of replay? We are excited to propose a memory-focused model that unifies a wide array of findings, including ones unaccounted for by prior models as well as evidence previously taken as diagnostic of value-based RL accounts. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Huge data release! Proud to be part of a collab to create a dataset of conversations, published in Science Advances. Findings just scratch the surface of what can be learned—eg, a consistent improvement in mood after a conversation with a stranger! buff.ly/3ZM7EQz

Why (and when) does this happen? In our recent paper (Christopher Honey Abhijit Mahabal) we propose psychological momentum: the idea, analogous to physical momentum, that mental states can have the potential to carry forward for minutes or longer - even if we don't want them to.

Wonder what 2020 did to your memory or sense of time? 🚨 Now out in PNASNews 🚨 we tracked how collective events and individuals’ emotional state (sampled throughout 2020) shaped spontaneous autobiographical memory across 3 years in the same ~1000 participants. (1/9)
