The UK supports the absolute right of Palestinians to safely return to their homes. By blocking essential humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, the Israeli Government is making that impossible. This is a flagrant breach of international humanitarian law. The Israeli Government

An anomaly in the legislation that needs corrected. These are Party lists and the Party should decide who fills any vacancies created by someone no longer representing them.

Me: ‘There are 10,000 children homeless today in Scotland!’ John Swinney: ‘Find something else to moan about!’ - it’s time for change and a #NewDirection with Scottish Labour

Massive congratulations to Davy Russell, the Scottish Labour team, and its phenomenal organisers. The national media narrative was wrong. The local data always indicated this was close - listen to those on the ground; not social media.

Spectacular result for Scottish Labour against all the odds. Well done Anas Sarwar and the team. The unsung heroes in any election is the campaign staff in the background. They deserve an enormous amount of credit for this victory, and have shown it is all to play for in 2026.

A point that will be noted, yet lost in the analysis of last night’s result, is that the Scottish Labour ‘ground game’ is far superior to the SNP’s. The SNP ‘machine’ no longer exists. Whereas Labour’s staff team is organised, experienced and know how to win.

‘That’s quite a return – they knocked up 8,000 voters and got 8,559 votes. That is an incredible Get Out the Vote campaign.’ Well done Kate Watson and James McPhilemy leading an energetic and effective Scottish Labour campaign.

🚗 Live in Bellshill, Bothwell, Uddingston or Viewpark? The SNP want to charge you just to drive into Glasgow – for work, to see family, even to shop at Morrisons in Baillieston. Another SNP tax to cover up their financial mismanagement. Fair? 👎

Honoured to stand with Ambassador Husam Zomlot at the ceremony marking the UK's recognition of the State of Palestine. A vital step toward peace, justice, and a two-state solution.
