New pub from Keana Tang and another collab between KU Paleobotany & UMich Paleobotany Keana used micro-CT on a seemingly lost 80 mill yr old fruit and revealed that it was 3d preserved in exceptional detail. This plant prob belonged to an extinct group of (rosid) angiosperms 🌸🌹🌺

Carboniferous calamite cone for today's #FossilFriday. If you squint hard enough you can maybe see some sporangia (blobs) on the left side of the cone

A confetti of joy in receiving the 2023 Emerging Leader Award🥇 at #Botany2023 ❗️ I will cherish this moment for the rest of my life ❤️. It takes a village to show a bona fide urbanite the wonders of the natural world; Thank you Botanical Society of America for being that village for me.
