So there we have it. Just 48 hours after the EA restocked the River Weaver with 8,000 fish following a previous pollution incident a farmer is caught on camera dumping what is believed to be 20,000 litres of slurry back into the river. Guardians of the environment indeed.

Thames Water has been lobbying govt & Ofwat to "increase bills by 40%, pay lower fines for breaches and keep paying out dividends as part of efforts to avert a taxpayer bailout". No to bill increase, no to bailout. If it goes bankrupt it goes bankrupt. theguardian.com/business/2024/…
