Shoutout to our Instructional Specialist, Amber Pickens-Moten, for modeling district expectations (i.e. effective & up-to-date word walls and anchor charts) for our photojournalism unit.

Still loving that @CharityBostick & Kaileigh Newman did some cross-curricular planning for this unit! We are using the access lenses to analyze photos &write about the photographer’s message. P.S. I’m short, so they thought a post-it up high was funny, but they did the work!🤣😃

1st Semester Reading Awards 📚 Some students are not pictured (at their request), but they were all celebrated. 🎉 😊 Shoutout to our librarian (Libros with Love) and our principal (Dr. Kanisha Wiley) for helping to celebrate our kiddos!

Aldine 9’s Emergent Bilinguals continue to amaze me with how they approach grade-level academic content. Pictured: Revising & Editing practice and close reading of “Immigrants in Our Own Land” Shoutout to Libros with Love for making the posters of the poem!
