First flight! Herman flew to the fence and then climbed to the top while flapping wings.

Then after a rest, across the patio to a tree. (And another long rest.)

Herman has left our patio. The flowers nearest us are at the end of their blooming, but there are lots still blooming in shader areas in the neighborhood. She hopes Herman has found them and fills up before the trip to Mexico.

I bought one of the "leave me alone! I'm hibernating" mugs for each of my people!
