We are currently learning about online safety in PSHE and today we discussed sharing things online. My class chose to share a photo of our dolphin & I would really appreciate as much interaction with this post as possible to show how quickly and how far online posts can spread😌

An evening of CPD planning yesterday. So good to be back in to this - the thing I miss the most after leaving my assistant professor role in the UK. Using my years of Reading and English research and delving in to new research and thinking. An evening well spent #cpd #English

So much research on the negative impact, common sense it’s wrong ,research shows that neatness doesn’t actually matter,it’s automaticity in handwriting that does so why on earth are schools still introducing pen licences? tes.com/magazine/archi… magiclinkhandwriting.com/the-sad-truth-…

Everyday this annoys me - but still children are taught that explicit reading skills are the most important thing about being a good reader! No mention of reading identity, social cultural background - just skills teaching and practising questions using text extracts.

So important - we also need to ensure we are giving as much attention to the social/cultural aspect of reading and the personal identity of a reader as we do the cognitive side. Such an important thread to read

Well it’s half term and a good time to reflect. Having been an educator for 23 years now I’ve experienced so much. I have always been passionate about education - post on linked in linkedin.com/posts/sally-be…

READING FOR PLEASURE has the biggest positive impact of any factor on children's life chances. It counts for more than test scores, exam results, even socioeconomic background! It is probably the single most important thing that we can help kids to do. booktrust.org.uk/news-and-featu…
