At Newcastle University, there is both an immediate loss of 300 permanent jobs on the table (staff who would be out of work by the end of July if management) and the proposal by management to cut a further 150 jobs next academic year and further job losses in the year after.

Aww, another email about being "disappointed" that we aren't meekly accepting the end of our careers. For the record, I'm not disappointed. I'm just angry. If you scab, do me the courtesy of removing yourself from my timeline.

Georges Seurat has drawn this laundress washing clothes on a river bank in three basic shapes of light and dark: head, blouse, and skirt against a shaded background. By eliminating gratuitous detail, he has given her a monumental stillness, as if fixed in time. The date is 1881.

Danny Kruger really needs to look at any election leaflet from his party. This is from a recent District Council election. The only tax I’m aware that they have power over is the Council Tax, ergo their candidate (who was elected) was on a platform to cut council tax! #BBCQT
