Great to spend time with Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities front line troops in our Pensacola office. It’s a privilege to be part of a dedicated team!

Week 3 of Session saw the Agency’s bill pass 2 committees. Also bills to improve the lives of clients passed in committees w providers & advocates there. I was recommended for confirmation by the Sen Children and Families Comm. Time for a deep breath and get ready for Week 4!

I am so proud to announce Aaron Thomas as Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities Employee of the Month. Aaron does an outstanding job managing our budget. Bravo Zulu Aaron!

We are coming to the end of another exciting week of the Florida Legislature. In addition to Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities’s bill and confirmation moving through committees it was Space Day, Military and Veterans Appreciation Day and multiple meetings with our stakeholders.

We so appreciate that the First Lady Casey DeSantis fights for Florida’s most vulnerable citizens every day!

Great to spend the morning with a true advocate J R Harding at William J Rish Park, in Port St Joe Beach, which is a true gem for individuals with disabilities

Today the Florida Senate confirmed my appointment as Director of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities. I thank Ron DeSantis and the Senators for their confidence in me. I also thank my friends, teammates and partners who joined me in the Senate gallery.

Congratulations Jeanetta Bryant and Abilities Workshop for a very successful Superhero – Compassion in Action 5K run. Thank you for letting me kick off the race. PS I won my age group! 

Children’s Week @ the Capitol is the best time. I joined fellow Agency Heads for an opening press conf with Coy Bowles, guitarist for the Zac Brown Band. Also read a book to a great class from the Apalachee Tapestry Magnet School of Arts and spent time with Florida State University finest!

People ask if I enjoy working at Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities. How can I not!? I work with the best team of any state agency!!!! You got me good with the surprise confirmation party!😊
