Today we are expanding our Coordinated Opioid Recovery (CORE) Network program, a first-of-its-kind model of care for substance use disorders, to several counties across the state. This model has been proven successful and will break down barriers for those battling addiction.

Our veterans serving in our classrooms are more than just “warm bodies,” they have a lot to offer our students. I am proud that our veterans care about serving as teachers in our state and know the wealth of experience they bring will be great for our schools.

Today, I am awarding $1.6 million to Tallahassee Community College to expand its surgical technology, dental hygiene, and dental assisting programs for more than 1,200 students. Through our investment, we are continuing to create job opportunities while supporting our state.

In Florida, we believe veterans have a wealth of knowledge and experience they can bring to the classroom, so we created a new program to help veterans become teachers. We stand by our veterans and want them in our classrooms.
