BTW, the 1990T "792" Smoltz pictured in my earlier tweet isn't a one-off (I've got two of them) -- they appear to be scarce, but they're out there (tcdb doesn't mention the variation, but currently shows the "792" version). SABR Baseball Cards Cardboard, Proof, And Film (Jay) Mario Alejandro

Does anyone know the source photo or production date for this postcard? Wondering if that's Willie Mays in centerfield (looks like uniform number might be #24)? SABR Baseball Cards

Missing in action: there are 33 players who have cards in the 2023 Topps team sets but do not appear in either Series 1 or 2 of the 2023 Topps base set. SABR Baseball Cards

And I suppose if one wanted to count Zach Reks, that would make 34 players appearing in the 2023 Topps team sets who don't appear in either Series 1 or 2 of the 2023 Topps base set (team set card on left). SABR Baseball Cards

As a rule, I don't like baseball cards with hatless players, but rules are made to be broken -- I can't get enough of the 1976 tonsorial awesomeness on display in the Linnett Superstars set.

Long before the inclusion of autographed cards in packs/sets became a thing, Renata Galasso included autographed cards in several of her sets in the 1980s, sometimes offering the sets at two prices (with/without autograph). SABR Baseball Cards

I've got two different advertising cards for Sports Nostalgia (forerunner to its sister shop, Cooperstown's late lamented Baseball Nostalgia), designed in the style of the TCMA All-Time Greats. Are there any other cards in this "set?" SABR Baseball Cards Andrew Aronstein

Since the Yankees announced the desecration of their classic uniform by renting ad space on the sleeve, they've gone 11-23 (.324). Just saying.

Wait -- where am I? In addition to differences (some major, some subtle) in the uniform "paint job", there are curious changes in the photo background for some players in the 2023 Topps base set as compared to their team set cards (base set cards on right). SABR Baseball Cards

For the second year in a row, a division-winning team has had its postseason ended after just two games. I do not like the current playoff format; I do not like it, Sam I Am. #MLBPlayoffs MLB
