I've been asking my male friends to do something - *watch if the first response to everything a woman tells you is to refute, say no or something negative* One texted me later: Holy f*ck The problem is, constantly putting up with unwarranted resistance is bad for mental health.

In the face of this dark post-Roe reality, I have three words: Hold onto hope. Do not give into despair. Here’s how I’m staying in the fight:

Looking for a way to channel your anger right now? Here are two suggestions for how to take this fight to the state level, now that the Supreme Court has erased federal protections:

In Michigan, there’s a ballot amendment that would affirm every person’s fundamental right to reproductive freedom. We need to fight to get it on the ballot this November. Chip in if you can to support @MIReproFreedom: ewar.ren/6ca

In Kansas, a measure on the ballot this August would amend the state Constitution to clarify that it does not protect the right to abortion, overturning a decision by the state Supreme Court. Kansans for Constitutional Freedom are fighting back—chip in if you can: ewar.ren/phc

It feels like more people are noticing the absolutely looney tunes moment we’re in re: surging Covid cases and no discernible government policy/active minimizing so just want to say hi! You’re not crazy! We are indeed in the middle of an event that may later be seen as a crime!

I don't use vim a whole lot, but when I do use it, I want syntax highlighting and basic quality-of-life plugins (and to avoid plugins that add non-standard bindings). Is there an oh-my-zsh but for vim for simple good no-mess config? (I see "oh-my-vim" -- is that a good one?)

Anyone got production-quality recommendations for architecture approaches, services, or libraries to have a web frontend get realtime updates from a rails backend?

2. Amazon has a policy against using seller-specific data to “aid [its'] private label business,” but Jeff Bezos testified to Congress that he “can't guarantee” that such a policy has “never been violated.” Now extend that to your medical data.

I’ve already investigated this matter qualitatively and with some controlled experiments (dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/34…), but now it’s time to significantly expand some of the analyses I did for that paper—and do some new ones. (4/13)
